Almost everyone likes to receive flowers. As presents, flowers carry a very emotional and personal message, and they are an essential part of any private celebration. But they are good “tools” in business, too, such as for thanking partners, inviting someone to an event, or drawing attention to new products. Up to now, it’s been quite a challenge combining flowers with business. “Ordering flowers for their corporate purposes used to cost companies a lot of money and administrative effort,” explains Achim Oberhauser, manager of Corporate Services at Fleurop. To eliminate these hurdles and automate the ordering process, Fleurop decided to join the Ariba®Network™, a global delivery network, and introduce Ariba-PunchOut™ online catalogs.
The online shop simplifies the ordering process and allows the customer to choose from a wide selection of 7,000 flower shops, adding a touch of individuality to each order and raising the quality of the service. “Orders are treated like one single contract, with a one-time delivery charge and service fee, which optimizes the logistics side of things and allows customers to save up to €35 per order,” notes Oberhauser. The automated process helps Fleurop gain a better overview of all orders and deal with invoices centrally. Each order is delivered by a personal courier, providing a level of flexibility that enables same-day delivery before 2:00 p.m.
