The Freie Gymnasium school in Borsdorf, near Leipzig, is helping develop an app for teachers that will improve the lessons and supervision the students receive.
An app is about to make school teachers’ work much easier. The Freie Gymnasium school is already encouraging its teachers to use technology wherever possible in their lessons. Old-fashioned overhead projectors have been consigned to the past; every teacher has a laptop, and classrooms are equipped with video projectors. And gone are the days of lugging around piles of text books and exercise books. Everything is stored on a single device.
“We talked to SAP’s developers about a typical school day,” said Frank Sauer, a teacher at the school. School registers, grades for students’ work, lesson plans – software can collate and analyze all this data, freeing up time for teachers to give individual attention to students.
“We’d love to carry on working with SAP”, said Kai Hakl, the school principal, “And we would like other schools to benefit too.”
